Recent shifts in global economies, changing markets and the emergence of unsustainable fibres have significantly impacted the Irish-grown wool industry. The Irish Grown Wool Council believes there is significant potential to add value all along the supply chain and advance innovation in Irish grown wool across a wide range of sectors. These videos encourage better awareness and training for farmers and sheep shearers on Shearing, Wool Handling and Presentation. With a view to reinstating traditional wool handling and presentation standards for farmers, producers, shearers, merchants and graders. Advancing the standard of wool presentation at the farm gate is essential, this enables us to begin to develop new markets for Irish grown wool across a range of sectors.
