Laces of Ireland - exhibitions, events and online platform
- Co. Luimneach
Laces of Ireland started as a collaboration between Friends of Lace Limerick and The South Armagh Lace Collective in 2019. In 2023, the project received funding via the Creative Communities on a Shared Island programme.
In this video, Gabriela Avram and Rosie Finnegan-Bell are talking about the latest developments in the project.
This year, three major lace exhibitions will be open to the public in the Armagh County Museum, the Limerick Museum and the Cork Public Museum, bringing together rare exhibits from public and private collections.. A series of events are planned in relation to these exhibitions.
The Laces of Ireland online platform includes a Laces of Ireland interactive map, with pointers to permanent collections and lacemaking community groups available to welcome visitors, as well as a joint calendar of events.
This project is funded by Creative Ireland’s Creative Communities on a Shared Island Scheme, and Limerick City and County Council through Creative Ireland Limerick.
