It's a Wrap - Heritage Week 2020.

With Heritage Week 2020 now behind us, the Heritage Council would like to extend a huge thank you to project organisers, event organisers, supporters and members of the public who took part in National Heritage Week 2020.

Adapting to this year's approach was no easy feat but everyone responded by sharing innovative and engaging heritage projects. Many of the committed and loyal heritage heroes, across every county in Ireland, adapted to keep Heritage Week alive. In addition, many people – who are new to heritage – got creative and involved. We have more than 800 projects shared on heritageweek.ie from across the country, celebrating our theme 'Heritage and Education: Learning from our Heritage'. They are a vibrant mix of research projects, videos, podcasts, online events and in-person activities. You can search the full collection of projects here. Remember, if you began a project but have not yet submitted it to us, we would still love for you to share it - all projects shared with us via the Project Organisers Portal by 30th August will be considered for a heritage award. Watch this space for more news about the National Heritage Awards; insights into projects shared; and news and plans for Heritage Week 2021.
