Visit the Weaver's Cottage
Join us at Ionad Cois Locha for a special Heritage Week Open Day. Step back in time as you visit our traditional weaver's cottage, open to the public for free as part of our Heritage Week celebrations. Immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of Donegal with captivating storytelling and live music in the local tradition all in the beautiful surroundings of Errigal and the Poisoned Glen.
As you walk around you can discover an array of stalls showcasing locally made crafts. Witness traditional craftspeople in action as they demonstrate spinning, carding, weaving, knitting, blacksmithing, and creel making. This is a unique opportunity to see these age-old skills brought to life and maybe to bring home something unique.
While you are here you can have fun in our play area, say hello to our farm animals, wander through our nature trails, and buy a ticket for a boat tour of the lake where you get a unique view of the surrounding landscape of Errigal and the Poisoned Glen. Sit a while in our cafe where we have a selection of delicious homemade food.
Whether you are a history enthusiast, a lover of traditional arts, or simply looking for a delightful day out, our Heritage Week Open Day offers something for everyone. Experience the charm and heritage of rural Ireland at Ionad Cois Locha, Dunlewey, County Donegal.
Open 10.30, closing 5.30. Additional purchase of tickets required for pedalboats, bumper cars, bouncy castle, and boat tour of the lake. All other activities are free for our open day.
