Prehistoric Discoveries on the Killaloe Bypass, Shannon Crossing and R494 Improvements Scheme

In 2020 and 2021 Rubicon Archaeology Ltd undertook archaeological investigations in advance of construction works for the Killaloe Bypass. The archaeological excavations recorded evidence of Iron-Age occupation, a cluster of burnt mounds, an area of prehistoric pits and post-holes and later historic activity.

Rubicon Archaeologist Bruce Sutton will give a talk about the project and hope to answer questions from the public.
