  • St. Mary's Collegiate Church
  • Emmet Place, Youghal, Co. Cork
  • P36 AH64
  • Co. Corcaigh - Contae

Celebrate the incredible birdlife of East Cork at this engaging exhibition by Youghal Bird Group, held in the beautiful surroundings of St. Mary's Collegiate Church as part of National Heritage Week.

Featuring a stunning collection of photographs, the exhibition showcases birds recorded at Slob Bank and Pilmore—two of Youghal's most important birdwatching locations. These internationally significant coastal habitats attract an extraordinary variety of resident and migratory species throughout the year, making them a haven for wildlife and one of East Cork's hidden natural treasures.

Whether you're an experienced birdwatcher, a curious beginner or simply looking for an enjoyable family outing, this exhibition offers a fascinating insight into the birds that can be found right on our doorstep. Members of Youghal Bird Group will be on hand at selected times during the week to answer questions, share their knowledge and offer advice on where and when to enjoy birdwatching locally.

Learn how the group brings together people with a shared passion for nature through monthly meetings, guided walks and field trips, helping members discover new species while exploring the rich habitats of East Cork.

Come along, be inspired by the beauty and diversity of our local birdlife and perhaps discover a new favourite place to explore. You may be surprised by what you can see at Slob Bank and Pilmore with nothing more than a pair of binoculars and a little curiosity.

Members of group will be in attendance on Tuesday 18th August, Thursday 20th August and Saturday 22nd August at 11am – 12noon & 2pm – 3pm
