Wild Child Day 2026

Join us for a fun-filled Wild Child Day at Cabragh Wetlands, Thurles, where children and families can connect with nature.

Set within the beautiful surroundings of Cabragh Wetlands, this special event will encourage children to embrace their wild side as they explore habitats, search for wildlife, and take part in a range of exciting nature-based activities. Young explorers can enjoy bug hunts, nature-themed crafts, wildlife spotting, photography activities, and scavenger trails while learning about the plants and animals that make the wetlands such a special place.

This year, we are delighted to welcome The Big Dig, which will be on site as part of National Heritage Week. Children will have the opportunity to discover more about our rich archaeological and natural heritage through engaging and interactive activities.

Wild Child Day is all about inspiring curiosity, creativity and a lifelong appreciation of the natural world. Whether you're getting creative with natural materials, capturing the beauty of the wetlands through photography, or exploring the wonders of biodiversity, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
