Wicklow County Archives Open Evening

Come explore the collections of Wicklow County Archives in our Archives Open Evening event at Wicklow Library & Archives, Wicklow Town. A selection from our collections will be displayed including workhouse registers, school records, estate papers and maps as well as items from our local government collections. County council collections include the early old age pension records, labourers’ cottages volumes, minutes of county and town council meetings and early vehicle registration volumes. Our estate papers collections include records from the Actons of Kilmacurragh, the Frizells of Castlekevin and the Bartons of Glendalough. The archivist will be present to assist with any enquiries and offer descriptions and information about the various archives on display. There will also be an exhibition of the records of the County Wicklow Grand Jury 1790-1899.
