Water Heritage Day on Esk Mountain

Watercourse Workshop led by Streamscapes - 9.30am - 11.30am
- Gates open 9.30am: Enjoy a short walk up Esk mountain nature trail to the woodland events space & meet the Streamscapes team. Everyone gathered for 10am.
- 10am: Introduction to water quality & invertebrates
- 10.15-11am: Stream & Lake sampling & ID-ing
- 11-11.30am: Comparison to garden pond samples with a discussion on garden ponds
- Resources to take home: Salmon Sanctuaries, Bog Revealed & Garden Pond creation booklets
- Tickets: FREE but booking essential as spaces limited.

Water-themed Lunch with Two Green Shoots - 11.30 -1pm
We'll be preparing a special 2-course lunch inspired by the watercourses of Esk mountain for you to enjoy after the mornings workshop! Taste water mint, marsh pennywort, meadowsweet & more water loving plants freshly foraged & prepared into sweet & savoury dishes with drinks included too. Lunch tickets (subsidised rate): €35pp

Car-sharing is encouraged to maximise spaces. If you are attending the workshop only & don't require any parking i.e. travelling by bus / bike or getting dropped off / collected please still book a FREE workshop ticket to help us gauge numbers attending. Directions from Glengarriff village: continue 5km on the N71 in the direction of Kenmare. Look out for a road narrowing sign and wooden lodge on the left. Our entrance is opposite this on the right between all the 100m signage for The Ewe Experience. You'll turn in & see a sign on your left 'The Garden of Re-Imagination' & two square signs 'Welcome to an Ark' & The Failte Ireland Welcome Standard tick to your right.Open the metal gate and if you could please close behind you (we have a crowd of hungry deer desperate to get in and have a taste of our edible garden and our deer fence & gate is the only way to keep the garden safe). Come up the driveway to park up in the outer car park where you'll be giving instructions on where to meet.
