Viking Dagger Workshop with The School of Irish Archaeology

Children will learn about the ancient craft of Blade smithing and the art of sword design including the role a blacksmith played in society. They will also learn about the ancient technology of leatherwork and make a leather scabbard for their Viking Seax. They will add their own personal touch by inscribing their name on the blade using the Runic alphabet.
This workshop complements The Big Dig with The School of Irish Archaeology and these workshops can be done in any order.
Suitable for children aged 7-12 years.
