Uisneach to Ballymore Táin March

Join us on Lady Day (15th August) for a unique ramble through some of the most historic lands of Westmeath. Beginning at Uisneach Visitor Centre at 10am, we will walk along farm tracks over Uisneach Hill to Washford (5k), highlighting scenes from Cath for Gárig agus Irgárig, the tumultuous 2,000-year-old mythic battle of Táin Bó Cúailnge (TBC). From Washford, we will travel by coach to view Clare Hill (Clártha in TBC), then on to Ballymore.

We conclude with a short 1.5k walk to Lough Sewdy to view some of the natural and historic features in the environs of the lake.
