Traditional Field Gates of Shercock, Co. Cavan

Shercock Tidy Towns received funding under the Heritage Council's Community Heritage Grant Scheme to fund a survey recording tradtional field gates of Shercock and the surrounding areas.
As part of this project, this one day event will:
-Present an overview of the survey findings
-Provide a historical background on these gates
-Enable attendees to experience a live demonstration from a blacksmith
-Provide the opportunity for attendees to be part of the wider survey work and learn, in a hands on way, how to record traditional field gates for themselves, and be part of this project in a meaningful way.

*Refreshments and a light lunch will be provided to participants
**Places will be limited to 40 and places will be allocated on a first come, first booked basis.
