Step into the living traditions of Irish craft at the National Museum of Ireland - Turlough Park. As part of National Heritage Week, this special event brings together three exceptional craftspeople whose work connects past, present, and future. Through live demonstrations, visitors are invited to explore the skills, stories, and materials that form the foundation of rural Irish life. These crafts speak to sustainability, community, and identity, while also highlighting traditions that must be protected and passed on.

About the crafters
Eoin Reardon – Traditional Woodworker
Using hand tools and time-tested joinery techniques, Eoin reveals the beauty, precision, and patience involved in working wood the old-fashioned way. His demonstration highlights the importance of craftsmanship in a modern world, where sustainable making and local materials are increasingly valued.

Tom Delaney – Basket Weaver
Tom transforms natural materials into beautiful, functional baskets using techniques rooted in generations of rural life. His work reflects a strong connection to place and resourcefulness, where every piece tells a story of tradition and care.

Dominic Keogh – Stonemason and Conservation Specialist
Dominic is a multidisciplinary stonemason whose work is deeply rooted in the landscapes and traditions of County Mayo. Specialising in dry stone walling, lime mortars, and the conservation of vernacular structures, Dominic brings a wealth of experience shaped by years of study and hands-on practice.
