Tour of the Green Church Dundalk

19 Lúnasa, 6:30in - 8:30in

  • Co. Lú

The Old Dundalk Society is pleased to announce its official contribution to National Heritage Week 2026, embracing this year’s national theme, ‘Heritage at Risk.’ As part of our programme, we will host a special guided visit to St. Nicholas Church (Green Church), Church Street, Dundalk, on Wednesday, 19 August, assembling at 6.30pm sharp.

The evening will feature a presentation by Trevor Patterson, member of the Select Vestry, who will explore the Heritage Week theme and highlight the challenges faced by this historic building in our community. The planned renovation works for St Nicholas’s Church are expected to be underway later in the year. Attendees will also have an opportunity to visit the Wellington Hall and the Infant School located on St. Mary’s Road Dundalk. (A91XH21) The Wellington Hall and Infant School were identified some years ago as requiring major conservation efforts to safeguard their historic fabric. This event will allow visitors to appreciate the results of the preservation work that were undertaken and, to see first-hand the standards now achieved in preserving these important historic buildings.
The event will conclude at approximately 8.30pm in the Wellington Hall, where light refreshments will be served.

This is a free event, and all are welcome to attend.
