Tour of Kilgarriffe Church of Ireland Graveyard

A new Anglican church was built by Richard Boyle in 1613, on the site of the present Church of Ireland in Clonakilty. That church was replaced by the existing structure in 1818. This structure is designed in the Board of First Fruits style, a body set up in 1711. As part of Heritage Week events, Michael O'Mahony will provide a guided tour of this ancient site in Clonakilty and he will chronicle some of the Church of Ireland families, who added to the rich heritage of the district, and whose remains rest in the adjoining burial ground. Assemble at the entrance to the Church on Patrick's Hill at 7pm.
