Tour of Headlands Community Garden

Headlands Community Garden began growing in 2013 on a large green space on our estate with a generous fund from Grow It Yourself (GIY).
Surrounded by a living willow ‘fedge’, they have 2 polytunnels, a number of raised beds, potato bed, an orchard of plum, pear, cherry and apple trees and three native Irish honey bees. It’s a beautiful space enjoyed by all our neighbours including the wildlife fellows.

In 2025 the headlands hired a juicer, and the whole estate got together to pick fruit, producing over 130 liters of juice! This year, another Apple (and Pear) harvest event with Community Juicing event is planned.
