All our welcome on a tour of the Dominican Priory the first to be founded in Connacht by Meiler de Bermingham second baron of Athenry in 1241. Explore this wonderful building with its monuments to the past. The construction supported by Anglo-Norman and Gaelic clans, bears testament to both rich cultural societies working in harmony.
To this day the Dominican Order has left an indelible mark on the history of the town of Athenry, Galway and Ireland.
