The Thomas Ashe Loughan Banner was donated to Moynalty Steam Threshing Museum in 2016 by Jim Nevin. It is 108 years old. The banner was made by local man James Nevin in 1917. It has been recognised as a key artefact of Moynalty’s history, and the State’s history as it was used to commemorate the Irish State's 25th and 50th Anniversaries.

The event will introduce the history of the Banner, and its maker James Nevin. It will introduce the organisation behind the banner, some events it was seen at.

Moynalty Steam Threshing is a volunteer-run organisation, with people from the community dedicating many days and weekends to organising and running both the festival and the Museum. 2025 marks the organisation’s 50th anniversary in operation, Moynalty has over 30,000 visitors from across all parts of Ireland, United Kingdom and America.
