The Story behind the Stones

Take a tour of this historic graveyard and hear stories behind the headstones. There's a wealth of history and heritage contained in the graveyard, with each memorial telling a story of the people who lie within its walls.

Barry Lacey, Slaneyside Heritage is project leader of the Mapping & Survey project and will conduct the tour. You'll get a chance to meet members of the Ferns Old Graveyard Steering Group who are undergoing training in surveying headstones, assessing and recording the condition of memorials and learning best practice in their care and conservation.

This event is part of a mapping and survey project funded by the Heritage Council.
