The Photographic Collections of the Parish of the Travelling People

This event will allow for browsing through the albums of photographs that form part of the archive of the Parish of the Travelling People. These albums contain photographs taken by members of the parish since its establishment in 1980; they document all aspects of parish life such as Baptisms, First Communions, Confirmations, and Weddings as well as parish pilgrimages and cultural awareness raising activities and provide a unique insight into Traveller culture. Heritage Council Funding over the past two years has been used to preserve the parish's original images and to create these surrogate albums for maximum accessibility.
