Felting is one of the world's oldest textile crafts, using the unique properties of wool to create fabric without spinning, weaving, or knitting. When exposed to moisture, heat, friction, or pressure, the microscopic scales on wool fibres interlock, forming a dense and durable material.

This hands-on demonstration explores the two main felt-making techniques: wet felting and dry (needle) felting. Participants will discover how loose wool can be transformed into fabric or sculptural forms while learning about the science behind this ancient craft.
Visitors will have the opportunity to try felt-making for themselves, creating a small, felted piece.

This is a drop-in event - no booking necessary.
