The Holy Wells of the County of Galway Project 2026

Join us for the launch of the ‘Tobar an Croise Naomha, Cappagh’ short film. The pattern day at this holy well in the late 1800s was reputed to be among one of the most important in County Galway. The film was shot on location in June 2026 and features several local community residents recounting their memories of the well. Come along to learn more about the features, traditions and customs of this culturally and archaeologically important holy well. This film is part of the Holy Wells of the County of Galway Project 2026 and is funded by The Heritage Council and Galway County Council Heritage Office.
