The Great Whiddy Island Circumnavigation

Calling all crafts, big and small to take part in the circumnavigation of Whiddy Island for Heritage on the Water 2026. The flotilla will be led by Unite, the Bantry Gig that won the Atlantic Challenge International event in Roskilde Denmark in July 2026. Whilst the flotilla will depart at 11am from the Abbey, this is not a race. It is a opportunity to experience the rich heritage and natural beauty of our coast line and to discover where Theobald Wolfe Tone struggled in 1796 with the French Armada.

We'll all convene on the Abbey afterwards for some lunch, sea shanties and a bit of craic.
