The Church of Ireland Monivea: Its history and its people
Monivea Heritage Association will present some background information on the story of the Church of Ireland and the families buried in the adjacent graveyard. They will also present a vision of what a stabilised and enhanced ruin might look like.
The Church stands at the eastern end of the village, close to the entrance to Monivea wood, Monivea Castle and the impressive Ffrench family Mausoleum with its marble effigy and altar.
The Mountbellew to Galway bus stops in Monivea. Tea/coffee available in the local shop. Toilet facilities at the Fr Sammon Community Centre.
