Roscrea Heritage Society is delighted to host a Black Mills special during National Heritage Week to pay tribute to the late Anthony Bourke. Anthony embodied the very best of community spirit, whether it be organising busking in aid of Roscrea Hospice, performing to residents in nursing homes or entertaining at community events, he gave freely of his time to support every cause. The society are holding this event to remember Anthony's love for music and community while also supporting a local charity that was very close to his heart. Proceeds from all ticket sales on the night will be donated to Roscrea Hospice in Anthony’s name. We hope you can join Dinny, Charly and Mick for what promises to be a memorable evening of music.
As seating is limited, tickets (€10) must be purchased in advance. Bígi linn!
This event will take place in the stunning setting of the Black Mills. The Black Mills dates from the first half of the 18th century and is located near the 11th century Round Tower and the 12th century Romanesque church. The Black Mills and the surrounding land has been in state care since 1991. The acquisition of the property was also seen as an ideal opportunity to protect St Cronan's Cross and to provide interpretive material on the monastic settlement which was located in this part of Roscrea. St Cronan's cross which was located in the church grounds nearby was relocated to the mill to fully protect it for future generations.
Tickets will go on sale on Monday 28th July @8pm via Eventbrite.
