The Brackloon School and District Reunion Group, Ballyhaunis are pleased to advise that a homecoming festivity has been organised this year as part of National Heritage week celebrations and “Clans of Mayo” initiative by Mayo County Council to encourage diaspora to travel to Mayo throughout 2026. The premise of the planned heritage festivities is to encourage community interaction and visitor attraction similar to the successful Gathering 2013 especially noting the sense of community and spirit engendered by the event.

The celebratory weekend events start with an exciting Bus Day tour of North Mayo on the 20 August. This adventure includes visits to heritage sites such as Foxford Mills, Lahardane Titanic Memorial Park and Jackie Clarke museum. A celebratory Irish Heritage night inclusive of music and chat will take place in the Ballyhaunis Community Hall on Saturday, 22 August.
