Stone masonry Demonstration

On Thursday the 20th of August as part of heritage week. Ormond Castle is delighted to present a Stone masonry demonstration. Come along and see the traditional skills, tools and techniques used by stone masons to shape and build with natural stone. Visitors can observe the use of hand tools such as chisels, mallets and hammers to cut, dress and fit stone. Our masons are excited to highlight their craft and time-honoured methods that have been used for centuries in the construction and restoration of historic buildings.
