As part of National Heritage Week, join us for a special event at St. Patrick’s Church, Newport—a treasured landmark rich in history, architecture, and community heritage.
This guided event will include special guest Duncan Stewart alongside the expert team leading the Conservation Management Plan, Architects working on restoration of the church tower, Experts in Renewable Energy and Swift conservation. The tour will highlight the church’s architectural significance, including its 1918 design by RM Butler—an exemplar of the Hiberno-Romanesque revival style—and offer visitors the chance to admire The Last Judgement, a stunning stained glass window by renowned artist Harry Clarke. Attendees will also learn about St. Patrick’s role as a vital hub for biodiversity , and how conservation works carefully with nature to ensure this important habitat for Ireland is protected.
Together they will guide and share insights on preserving this iconic building while exploring sustainable solutions such as the potential integration of renewable energy, including PV panels, within the constraints of its heritage status.

This event celebrates the past, present, and future of St. Patrick’s Church, and its enduring role at the heart of the Newport community.
