An old story tells of healing power in the well where three townlands meet and our venue An Tobar is a tribute to Patrick Muckian, who owned the farm, and was a noted healer in South Armagh.
Silverbridge House was the home of the landlord family McGeough Bond who changed the run of the road to bypass their property and built a barracks at the end of the avenue for protection.
Carnally House was built by Francis Ford, orginally from County Cork, in 1839 and the nearby Ford's Cross road system bears his name. Francis Ford to alleviate the famine provided employment to his tenants by straighten the road from Silverbridge on in the Crossmaglen direction.
