Rock Art Walk at Coomasaharn with Archaeologist Aoibheann Lambe

As part of National Heritage Week and in the lead up to the forthcoming Skellig Coast Archaeology Festival (organized by Heritage Iveragh in collaboration with SKDP and Kerry Dark Sky Tourism - taking place 2–4 October - tickets on humanitix.com) join us for a walk celebrating the archaeological heritage of Glenbeigh's Coomasaharn basin.

Archaeologist Aoibheann Lambe will guide us to a number of prehistoric rock art sites in the area, which has the highest density of open-air atlantic rock art in Ireland.

This will be the second opportunity to join a rock art walk up at Coomasaharn as part of National Heritage week. Those on the waiting list for the event on 15th August will be given first preference for a place on this event.

We will be meeting at the Glenbeigh National School and carpooling from there to the start of the walk. Further details will be sent out to attendees upon registration.

Walk Guide Bio: Aoibheann (‘Eve-en’) Lambe is an archaeologist, specialist in megalithic-era openair petroglyphs / rock carvings and has a keen interest in archaeo-astronomy.
