Do you have a story or a favourite memory about the Rose of Tralee Festival or the lovely Roses? We would like to hear them! Drop into Kerry County Museum 15-19 August for a trip down memory lane. You can watch a short film showcasing the Roses through the decades and maybe you would like to write down a story or memory that we can display for years to come. Staff will be at hand to have a chat and to direct you to the Rose Hotel, where the Rose dresses are on display this year.

You might also like to stroll to Tralee library to catch their memorabilia exhibition or simply visit the Rose Garden and Rose of Tralee statue in our lovely Tralee Town Park. This drop-in event is suitable for all ages and abilities. Free entry - no booking required, all are welcome. Please note that our entrance is via the Tralee Tourist Information Office throughout the Rose of Tralee Festival & National Heritage Week.

The Rose of Tralee Festival is held every year during the month of August. It takes its inspiration from the 19th century ballad of the same name, and the centrepiece is a competition, broadcast live on national TV, in which a young woman is crowned as the Rose of Tralee. Entrants come from over sixty Rose Centres globally, and the winning Rose represents the Festival and Ireland in a yearlong ambassadorial role at home and abroad.
