This exhibition showcases a unique heritage project that traces the history of Roscommon town from 1630 to 1850. For the past year, a group of volunteers, guided on a voluntary basis by Vincent Delany, have been transcribing centuries old leases that trace Roscommon town's historical ties to noble estates.
Hertfordshire Archives and Local Studies in the UK hold records relating to the town of Roscommon. This exhibition illustrates the information which they hold and the process of volunteers in Roscommon reading and transcribing the historic documents.
Exhibition open during library opening hours.
Supported by Roscommon County Council and Roscommon Volunteer Centre in collaboration with Hertfordshire County Council.
