Caoimhín Ó Mórdha, also known as Kevin Moore, is a bilingual poet writing in both Irish and English. Born in Belfast, with formative years spent in County Monaghan, he has lived in Mullingar for the past 35 years.
His poetry is introspective, reflective and contemplative, exploring family, emotion and the nature of humanity.
His son, Naosán Ó Mórdha, also known as Naosán Moore, is a Mullingar-born music composer specialising in piano composition and now based in London.
Inspired by artists such as Ludovico Einaudi, Ólafur Arnalds, Colm Mac Con Iomaire and Jamie Duffy, Naosán creates original instrumental piano pieces.
Together Caoimhín and Naosán form ‘Macahar’, a name with links to the Irish for son and father. They blend their poetry and music in a deeply personal artistic collaboration.
Macahar share work that pairs Caoimhín’s recited poems with Naosán’s evocative piano pieces, creating a unique fusion of literature and music.
Their performance is a contemplative celebration of language, sound, memory and connection.
