Placename Project unveiling and Bazaar Commemoration

This year, we are focusing on some very special aspects of our local heritage. Building on last year’s successful Dunlavin Placenames Project, we are delighted to launch Phase 2, continuing to uncover and preserve the stories behind our local place names. And there’s a little surprise in store, we will be unveiling our new Placenames Mural!

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Imaal Bazaar and Fete, held from 27th June to 4th July 1926 to raise funds for the new church in Donard. We will take a look back at what went on in Dunlavin 100 years ago, bringing this fascinating chapter of our local history back to life and remembering the people and community spirit behind it.
