Join us for a free public photo exhibition at St. Anne's Church, Mallow, as part of National Heritage Week 2026.
This exhibition presents photographic documentation gathered as part of an ongoing conservation assessment of St. Anne's Church and Graveyard — one of Mallow's most historically significant buildings.
St. Anne's occupies the site of a medieval church dating to 1291, with its surviving fabric largely dating to a 1694 reconstruction following the Williamite Wars. It is a Recorded Monument, a Protected Structure, noted for its prominent west tower, unusual round chancel, and high-quality limestone detailing.
The exhibition showcases the architectural character and heritage features of the site, highlights areas of conservation concern, and gives visitors an insight into the professional assessment work currently underway. Panels will explain the historical and architectural significance of the building, its connection to prominent local figures including the Jephson family, and its links to Thomas Davis, who was baptised here in 1814.
This event is free and open to all. It is an opportunity for residents, history enthusiasts, and families to connect with Mallow's built heritage and learn about the importance of conserving this remarkable local landmark for future generations.
