Phibsboro Urban Hedgerow Walk & Talk

Phibsboro Village Tidy Towns is delighted to invite you to a special urban hedgerow Walk & Talk with Mark McDowell from Hedgerows Ireland for Heritage Week 2026.

We will be exploring a hidden, but important hedgerow surrounding Shandon Pitch and Putt in Phibsboro that acts as a vital habitat corridor for urban wildlife in Dublin 7.

Join us to learn about the fascinating history of Irish hedgerows, their cultural significance, their value for people wildlife and biodiversity and how they can be managed and conserved even in urban locations. These landscape features are increasingly at risk but are hugely important to protect.

The walk takes place inside the hedge-line which is accessible via the main entrance to Shandon Pitch and Putt. The meet up point is in front of the Clubhouse at 7.30pm.

Family friendly but parent or guardian needs to accompany child.
Please be aware that this is an outdoor evening event and not seated.
