  • Streamstown Greenway
  • Co. An Iarmhí

Join Damian Murtagh, NPWS Conservation Ranger, recreational cyclist and field botany enthusiast, for a guided botanical bike ride along the Streamstown Greenway.
Discover wildflowers, pollinators and the hidden biodiversity treasures of the Greenway while learning how to identify some of our native plants, habitats and species along the route. This guided cycle will explore the rich natural heritage of the Greenway and provide an opportunity to learn more about the ecology and biodiversity of this unique landscape.
The cycle will include a number of stops to observe and discuss the wildlife, habitats and botanical features encountered along the way, with approximately three hours allocated for the cycle and associated stop-offs.
Please bring your own bicycle and, if you have them, a hand lens and camera to help explore and record the species we encounter. Participants are also encouraged to bring water and wear clothing suitable for cycling and the weather conditions.
This event is suitable for competent cyclists only.
Booking essential: Please register in advance via Eventbrite.
This event is funded by the Heritage Council, the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) and Westmeath County Council.
