Kiltullagh Killimordaly Heritage Society presents "Pastimes from the Past: Keeping Our Heritage Alive", remembering the clubs, pastimes and community events that were once a big part of life in Kiltullagh-Killimordaly.

Saturday, 22 & Sunday, 23 August 2026.

As part of National Heritage Week 2026 and this year’s theme, “Heritage at Risk”, the talks and exhibition focus on the pastimes, clubs and community activities that were once a big part of everyday life in Kiltullagh-Killimordaly but are now at risk of being forgotten. By collecting and recording these memories, we are helping to ensure that this part of our local heritage is kept alive.

Saturday, 22 August

Series of Talks & Exhibition: 2.00 pm – 6.00 pm

Sunday, 23 August

Keeping Our Heritage Alive Exhibition: After Mass 11.30am – 5.00 pm

The exhibition includes display panels on local clubs and community events, an exhibition by our local primary schools, the 1992 Kiltullagh Community Games artwork exhibition, a memory corner where visitors can share their memories, a screening of the 1985 Esker Donkey Derby, and “Touch the Past”, a pop-up mini museum featuring rare copies of the 1970s Double K Echo newsletter and Kiltullagh Drama Festival programmes.

During the weekend, visitors can browse the exhibition, view the displays, listen to the talks and share their own memories and stories.

Free admission. All are welcome.

Organised by Kiltullagh Killimordaly Heritage Society and funded, with thanks, through the Galway County Council Community Support Scheme 2026.
