Open Day at Elizabeth Fort Houses

To celebrate National Heritage Week 2025, Parade House and Garrison House at Elizabeth Fort will be open on Sunday 24th August from 10am to 4pm. This is a free event offering a self-guided tour of these charming houses, now restored as holiday accommodation and certainly one of the most special self-catering experiences in Cork City. Visitors can take a step back in time, admiring the houses and the fort, while exploring the conservation work undertaken by Irish Landmark Trust.

There is no parking available at Elizabeth Fort. We recommend parking at Park it Here or Grand Parade car park in the city (local rates apply) and cross the river to walk up Barrack St to the fort.
