Nature Then & Now: Wild Within Living Memory is a guided workshop walk exploring how the natural world around us has changed within our own lifetimes.
Join ecologist Irene of Ériu Ecology for an engaging walk through Tramore Valley Park starting at the Kinship Ecolab, where we’ll look at the biodiversity of the area and reflect on the changes people have witnessed in the landscape. Through stories and observations of birds, animals, insects and plants, we’ll explore what has disappeared, what has arrived, and what has remained.
The walk invites participants to share their own memories and experiences of nature: What do you remember seeing as a child? Which plants, animals or birds were once familiar? How has the landscape changed?
This accessible and informal workshop connects ecological knowledge with personal memory, encouraging participants to consider how our everyday environments have transformed over time and what these changes might mean for the future.
