“Myths, Yarns, Tall Tales and Local Legends - Past and Present”

This year in celebration of Kildare Library Service’s 100th anniversary and in honour of its role in preserving Ireland's intangible cultural heritage we are hosting an evening of sharing and recording our legends and stories. No matter how big or small please drop in with your written yarns, myths, sayings , folk tales, photographs and any other mementos in order to keep our local stories alive.
It could be a tall tale passed down through generations or even a recent account of how and why you moved to County Kildare but we want your help in preserving our oral heritage and fostering connections.
Too many stories have been lost because of lack of telling and to combat this heritage at risk we want to take this opportunity to record these this Heritage Week with a few to exhibiting same in a Library Exhibition this Autumn. All welcome.
