The town of Mullingar is famous for its musical heritage. Joe Dolan and Niall Horan put the town on the musical map. Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann was founded in Mullingar and the first All Ireland Fleadh was staged there.
Join local historian and author Ruth Illingworth on a tour to explore the musical heritage of the town. The tour will include the building where Comhaltas was founded in 1951, the Mullingar Arts Centre, the cathedral and the hall where Percy French regularly performed and where Ireland's first disco took place.
