Join us for a fun hands-on workshop where children (ages 8–18) will create their own mini heritage pots inspired by traditional Irish pottery. Using pinch pot and coiling techniques, participants will shape their pots and decorate them with simple patterns and symbols.
Pottery has been made in Ireland for thousands of years, from Neolithic vessels at Newgrange to beautifully decorated medieval wares. These pieces often carried functional and decorative value, telling stories through shape and design.
Hosted by The Mood Designs, the workshop will be led by Ella Szczerbak, a ceramic artist with 13 years of experience teaching and creating ceramics using a wide variety of techniques. All pieces will be glazed and fired in our studio for later collection.
This workshop is free as part of National Heritage Week (booking required).
This workshop is presented by The Mood Designs in association with the Mayo Heritage Office.
