Melodies Beneath the Keep
Join us in Nenagh Castle Garden to listen to melodic sounds of local musicians, surrounded by nature and in the shadow of Nenagh Castle.
Ireland has a great love of music and talent for music. We wanted to celebrate this during Heritage Week and what better way to do this than an open-air recital surrounded by the magnificent architecture and majestic structures of St. Mary’s of the Rosary Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Church of Ireland, the imposing Keep of 13th Century Nenagh Castle and the tranquil surroundings of the Castle Garden.
Developed by Tipperary County Council as a medieval walled garden, the planting in the Castle Garden has been carefully chosen to soothe the senses while also encouraging pollination and bio-diversity. Formerly known locally as Gill’s Garden, this is an ideal location to enjoy appropriate music that is selected to be in harmony with the surroundings.
The shimmering, resonant and ethereal sounds of the harp will allow listeners to unwind and relax and breathe in the fragrance of the lavender. This is just one of the musical treats in store, all of which will be in keeping with the location. A wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon, connecting with nature and music and exploring with our senses.
