Lisglassock House and Gardens, located between Ballymahon and Keenagh is an estate and house steeped in history. Lisglassock or Lios Glassog: the fort of the water wagtails is situated in the SE of the parish, bounded by Lislea, Cartronbrack and Barry. The original house (the ruins of which are still standing) was built in Cromwellian times when the estate which belonged to the O'Farrell's was confiscated and allocated to Cromwellian agents. Peter Leigh, a trooper in Cromwell's army installed William Robinson as a tenant and Robinson subsequently purchased the estate in 1659. Robinson replaced the old house with a newly constructed, classically designed, rendered and slated house, built on a symmetrical floor plan with extensive out offices and farmyards at the rear. The house, in late Georgian style would signify the primacy and prestige of the by now gentrified Robinson family in the Ballymahon hinterland and beyond. Constructed in around 1820-30, the house features a Wyatt window, flagstones at the front said to have been taken from the street and path at Ballymahon St. Longford. The house also features an elegant flourish in its round headed door, with wide spoked fanlight. A Gibbsian stone door case (named after English Architect, James Gibbs 1682-1754) was purchased from Waterstone House, Glasson in 1928 and erected overlooking the lawns and tennis courts.

The house and gardens have been lovingly restored by its present owners with strict conservation principles adopted validating the architectural importance of this regency house.
