Leitrim Women Through Time: Voices from the Factory Floor

Are you a woman who worked for a Leitrim factory in the recent past? If so, the "Leitrim Women Through Time" women’s history project want to hear from you! We are hosting a gathering of women who worked in factories of all sizes and types across the county from the 1950's up to the 2000's to hear their shared experiences and record them for the future.

Did you work in General Plastics or Shannon Industries in Carrick, in Ballinamore or Newtowngore Textiles, in Trend Knitwear or Laird's Preserves in Drumshanbo, or in one of the many other factories in the area? Maybe you were a home worker for a factory – did you knit for Cyril Cullen or Sarah McGloin?

Come and join us for tea and cake to chat about your memories, meet other former factory workers, and add to an archive of rural women's history for Leitrim! All are very welcome, and advance booking is not necessary, but would be appreciated for catering numbers.
