Kynochs Walk Presented by Diarmaid Murphy

Kynoch’s was a massive munitions and explosives factory in Arklow, County Wicklow, that operated from 1895 to 1918.

The Kynochs walk begins in the museum with a brief presentation of what the factory was all about, what they made, their significance to the towns advancement and what is left. This will be presented by our member of staff Diarmaid Murphy who has been studying and perfecting his tour based around the Kynochs explosive factory for the last 10 years.

Diarmaid will then guide you through the area on which the factory once stood in addition to some buildings that still exist from that time today.
