Irish Railway Heritage at Dromod

As part of Heritage Week the Cavan and Leitrim Railway will have a range of locomotives and exhibits in operation and display for members of the public.

Visitors will be treated to a heritage train, along a section of the original Cavan and Leitrim railway, with a fully guided tour giving background on the original railway and the dedication of our volunteers to get the railway museum active again. There is also a complimentary tour of transport exhibits in our open air museum.

Our resident 1908 built steam locomotive will also be on display in our 1887 built engine shed.

The tour is very family friendly, where you can get up close and personal with exhibits. It is well worth visiting.

Please note while we are fully volunteer operated, that donations are requested for visiting as we have insurance and other costs to fund so that we can showcase our exhibits to the public.
