Historical Mall Walk of Bunclody
Druimcree Historical Group in association with Friends of Bunclody Heritage invite you to join us for a Historical Mall walk of Bunclody on 18 August 2026 in celebration of National Heritage Week.
The walk will be led by Barry Lacey, a Heritage Consultant and Archaeologist.
Meet time 7pm at the Holy Grail Pub, Bunclody to sign in and learn about our natural, cultural and heritage goals.
The walk will focus on our built heritage, with special interest in the conservation of our Victorian Toilet (RPS No. WCC1428) that we are proud to announce is in receipt of the 2026 Community Heritage Grant Scheme award.
The Victorian Toilets are a rare surviving example of 19th century public sanitation infrastructure, reflecting the development of Bunclody as a planned market town. Constructed between c 1839 and 1905, the building retains significant historic fabric, including its internal drainage system, stone construction and original layout, and is of architectural, technical and social importance.
