Hidden Treasures of Lough Mask - The importance of Brigit’s Well, Kilbride, Lough Mask.

In this presentation Mary Condren will explore the importance of Brigit’s well at Kilbride, Lough Mask County Mayo. Long forgotten, Brigit and her mother visited Lough Mask, and the well and chair are important clues to the ancient but hidden treasures of this area. Mary Condren is the voluntary director of Woman Spirit Ireland, and has spent many years researching Brigit’s ancient traditions, sites, wells, rituals, artefacts and stories for her forthcoming publications. She is author of ‘The Serpent and Godess - Women, Religion and Power in Celtic Ireland’ (1989)
